Open Call for New Earth Sciences Book Series
Calling all potential authors! Elsevier is inviting you to submit a book proposal for consideration in our new book series Developments in Structural Geology and Tectonics. This series will consist of reference books written by a single person or a group of authors/editors covering (a) theoretical discussions, problem solving, practical aspects (such as map interpretation and computer analysis) and (b) regional structural and tectonic aspects. New developments, industrial applications, and interdisciplinary materials linking geophysics, petrology, petrophysics, etc. are also encouraged.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to: ductile, brittle-ductile and ductile deformation mechanisms and related structures in micro-, meso- and mega-scales studied through field investigations, microstructures, analogue and analytical models; kinematics of plate boundaries and interiors; and regional studies of structural geological and tectonic importance.
This new series will be edited by Prof. Soumyajit Mukherjee, who is an experienced and reliable Elsevier partner. He authored the PROSE honorable mention book Atlas of Structural Geology, which published in 2016. Since the Atlas of Structural Geology published, he has proposed three books, two of which were signed in 2016. The third book is proposed along with the series as the third volume. The books approved in 2016 will be volumes 1 and 2.

About the Editor:
Soumyajit Mukherjee, PhD, is a Professor of Geology at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. He received his Ph.D. degree in Geology from IIT Roorkee in 2007, M.Tech. in 2002 from IIT Roorkee, and B.Sc. with Geology Honours from Presidency College (Kolkata) in 1999. Dr. Mukherjee is a structural geologist and tectonics researcher and performs fieldwork, microstructural studies, and analogue and analytical modeling mainly on ductile shear kinematics and collisional tectonics. He has been serving as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Earth Sciences (formerly “Geologische Rundchau”). His research and editorial experience spans 14 years and he has authored and edited nine books, including the Atlas of Structural Geology, which one a PROSE Honorable Mention award. He received the Hutchison Young Scientist Award from IUGS in 2004 and has been a Guest Researcher at the Hans Ramberg Tectonic Lab, Uppsala University.

Earth & Environmental Science
The fields of Earth science, planetary sciences, and environmental science encompass disciplines critical to the future of our world and its inhabitants. Our well-being depends on a thorough understanding of air and water resources, soil chemistry, atmospheric dynamics, geology, and geochemistry, along with a myriad of other aspects of the environment we live in. Elsevier supports the efforts of researchers and scholars in these areas with content that meets their cross-disciplinary needs: journals, books, eBooks, and online tools that span computer science, chemistry, energy, engineering, biology, agronomy, ecology, environmental impact and many other topics fundamental to the study of our world.
